Is the quality of your skin texture getting you down? Then you should consider bio remodelling treatments.
This revolutionary, injectable bio-remodeling skin treatment involves injecting hyaluronic acid (HA) beneath the skin to improve its appearance.
While it was only introduced in Australia in 2022, it has quickly become a popular way to counter skin laxity and remodel sagging, ageing, and crepey skin on the face, hands, neck, and décolletage.
Essentially, it helps your skin heal and renew itself from the inside out by stimulating collagen and elastin production. Both of these are proteins that attract and retain water in the deeper layers of the epidermis.
Through this bio-remodeling treatment, our expert team at Essence Healthcare can help you maintain a more youthful appearance by improving your skin elasticity and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
How does Bio-Remodelling improve your skin quality?
Different to traditional HA dermal fillers, this bioremodelling filler has been manufactured using a different type of mechanism to produce binding of its molecules. Rather than using the usual BDDE chemical agent which strengths the HA bonds and transforms it into a thicker and harder gel, the binding mechanism for this bioremodelling filler has been achieved using a thermal reaction that ‘relaxes’ and stretches the long HA bonds allowing short HA bond to ‘come inside’ them. Once the substance is collected down, the long and short molecules they get tighter again and bind to each other.
This increases the half-life (time to be degraded) of the HA molecules from around 24-48 hours to around 28 days.
During these 28 days the substance will spread in the tissue injected promoting an anti-inflammatory response but stimulating the production of collagen and elastin. All at the same time as promoting a deep and intense hydration due to the hydrophylic properties of HA.
Benefits of Bio-Remodelling Injections
The reason why bio-remodelling treatment has become so popular in the two years since it was launched is that it helps to improve skin elasticity and other skin concerns by making it hydrated and firmer.
This not only gives you a more youthful appearance by reducing the presence of fine lines and wrinkles, but it can also complement laser treatments and lessen the need for further clinical treatments such as surgery.
Additionally, bio-remodelling is considered a reasonably comfortable procedure, with most patients experiencing only mild discomfort, which is not too dissimilar to the sting one can feel during anti-wrinkle treatments. Pain relief is not usually required, but if it is, a topical numbing can reduce aches and soreness.
How Long Do Results Last?
Everyone who has bio remodelling treatments performed on them will respond to the injections in a slightly different way, with several factors determining how long the hyaluronic acid will remain effective in the face, neck, arms, or knees.
However, as a general rule of thumb, injections will last for around 6 months before you need to think about maintenance treatments.
Most initial treatment plans comprise two injections, which tend to be scheduled about four weeks apart. But to maintain your results and avoid sagging tissue, they should be followed by regular top-ups every 6 months.
What is the Difference Between Bio-Remodelling Fillers and Dermal Fillers?
Bio-remodelling and dermal fillers are both injectable cosmetic treatments that use hyaluronic acid to counteract sagging skin laxity.
The main difference between the two is that bio-remodelling fillers are used as part of a more subtle treatment plan to improve the overall hydration and quality levels of your skin. Dermal fillers, on the other hand, attempt to add volume to specific areas, such as facial contours or wrinkles.
It typically injects a higher concentration of hyaluronic acid within a smaller area to achieve more noticeable results.
Aftercare Instructions
Within 48 hours and up to two weeks after your bio remodelling injections have been administered, there are some aftercare activities you should focus on.
For instance, you should avoid alcohol and strenuous exercise because the former has dehydrating properties. At the same time, the latter causes you to sweat more, which means your skin will take longer to recover after the injections.
You are also recommended to avoid activities like hot showers, spas, and saunas that induce heat, as well as avoid wearing makeup or doing facials and skincare treatments like chemical peels to ensure your collagen and elastin production remains good for as long as possible.
